more gypsy jazz tunes
I’ve recently written and recorded some original tunes on this Evolution Media Music album, out with BMG. “Fast Train to Marseilles”, “Waltz on the Seine”- you get the idea! Recorded with my Selmer replica guitar through a ribbon mic and an early 60’s valve pre.
bass recording session
A recent remote session to do some Oceans 11 style double bass for an F1 documentary. The fact that this is a fairly bright sounding bass actually worked pretty well for these particular cues.
DeWolfe playlist
a couple of my tracks at the top of DeWolfe’s current “hard rock and metal” playlist. These two are from a recent album that’s out with DeWolfe USA.
about
I’ve been a professional musician since my mid-twenties and, along with gigging, for the past couple of decades I’ve been writing and recording production music. I’ve written for Universal, DeWolfe, Evolution Media Music,, Wrong Planet, Focus, Motus, Muchas, Brilliant and Felt PM, amongst others, and have co-written commissioned music for a couple of CH4 documentaries. In my capacity as a session musician I’ve been involved in the music for a whole host of films, television shows and computer games , remixes for Chris Brown and Omarion and an appearance on the Young Punx album “Hollywood Kiss”. Recent film and T.V. sessions include The One Show, Friday Night Live, Green Street 3, AmStarDam, CH4’s Our Gay Wedding, The Hatton Garden Job, Dead Pixels, Me Myself and Di, Richard Osman’s World Cup of the Decade, Older Brothers, Stella Artois, the PS4 games RIGS and MediEvil and the recent film Harvey Greenfield Is Running Late.
As a gigging musician I’ve played at Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Secret Garden, Bestival, Ronnie Scotts, The Jazz Cafe, Pizza Express, The Hippodrome and a West End Theatre production of “Cabaret”. In the early 2000s I spent a few years playing bass in the acclaimed downtempo electronica group “Urban Myth Club”. Nowadays I’m mostly playing jazz and I’ve been fortunate enough on occasion to have played with jazz greats such as Tina May and Alan Barnes and gypsy jazz legend Paulus Schafer. I’ve also played guitar with Priscilla Presley, but that’s a story for another day (oh no it isn’t!)….
