retro-flavoured funk album
I’ve just completed an album of Vulfpeck inspired funk tunes and have had a great time tracking and mixing through my wonderful early 1960s valve preamps, each converted from the front end of a Ferrograph tape machine, by Analogue Addicts. My favourite outboard gear in the entire studio, hands down.
Fun and Funky Felt
I had fun co-writing tracks on this album, out with Felt Music, with composer Paul Arnold.

I’ve got a few tracks on this album released by True Stories. “In The Moment” is a good one I think.
Hybrid Heavy

Bossa tracks
I’ve recently written and recorded an album of bossa style guitar for Motus music. Years of jazz gigs and experience with plenty of Jobim repertoire definitely helped with the writing of this one.
Boo!
Some recent halloween tracks out with Felt PM. There’s theremin all over this and hubristically, I thought that I’d use my real one- until reality struck. Anyway, out of my contributions to the album, I think that I like my “spooky ska” track the best.

Surf Pop
I built my own outboard spring reverb and broke out the jazzmaster and mosrite guitars for this album out with MOTUS music.

A couple more on a different album, a bit more straight ahead rocking out this time…“Gasoline” and “Danger Zone” are mine.
Desert Rock
“Powerful, searing desert rock where modern hard rock guitars and raucous drums pack a cool, dark-edged punch. Wild, tough, heavy and just a little bit deranged”. I’ve got some tracks on this Evolution Media Music album.
90’s Grunge
I’m quite proud of this one, and I think that it’s pretty authentic. Some genuine 90’s guitars, 90’s valve guitar amps, 90’s outboard and a healthy dose of ssl outboard bus compression went into these tracks which also aren’t religously to a click. I wanted a real organic feel. Oh yes, and I was listening to these bands and playing guitar in the 90s so it’s a big part of my musical upbringing. 90’s grunge can be found here.
Ska Punk
An album of ska/punk tracks is now out with MOTUS music. I had real fun doing this one and frankly, it helped that I used to play in a ska band.
American Country
Chicken pickin’ tele, dobro, banjo, mandolin. All can be found on tracks from this MOTUS album, American Country. My favourite is “chicken on the porch”.

Young Punx
I’m really pleased to hear some of my guitar playing on the first section of “Rhythm is Wild” – coming up on the next Young Punx album. I played some upright bass on the session too.
Pop Punk
I’ve got a few tracks out on this album with Brilliant Music- Pop Punk.
“First Love”, “Meet Me At the Diner”, “Prom Punk”, “This is the Day”, “In a Spin”,”Kiss Punch”. I’m quite proud of how these tracks sit in this album- track no. 1 is great for example (not mine) and I think that these hold their own.
MediEvil session
I did a fun session for Bob and Barn recently, playing upright bass and guitar for a bonus track for the MediEvil soundtrack. Alex Reeves is playing drums on this.
Evolution of Punk!
Some more tracks out with MOTUS on their “Evolution of Punk” album, variously Green Day/Sum 41-esque, then somewhat Ramones and Sex Pistols. I like “Contagion” on this album, but mine are also “Delinquent”, Peckham Punk” and “Fistful of Attitude”. Not easy listening then…
Wrong Planet
A couple of “rock soul” tracks are out with Wrong Planet. “Fighting for a Good Time” and “Bay City Soul” are mine on this.
MOTUS 70s rock
I’ve got a track out on MOTUS’s 70s rock album- “Highway to the City“, and another on their 60s Soul -“Sweet Soul”.

I’ve been doing some tracking for some Americana tracks- tele, dobro, banjo.
MOTUS blues tracks
My compositions are starting to appear in the MOTUS library. A couple of tracks in the “Indie Garage Blues” album for example- “Saturday Swagger” and “Fighting Through a Feeling”.
Blues tracks
If you’re into rather more of a S.R.V. vibe then I did a couple of blues tracks for EVO last year. “Swagger Blues” and “Proud Blues” are mine. I played them on my sunburst 80’s strat- my first decent electric guitar. I wanted a sunburst because Stevie Ray played one.
